Invisible Man

Where are you?

Are you here?

I can feel you

In the air

I can smell you

In the embers set alight

By my flame

My smile shines

A beacon on you,

Invisible Man

My dreams tell me

You linger

At the end

Of every corner

They do not

—however—

Tell me

Which corner

Within every shadow

I see a light

Which could be you

And as I breathe

I wonder

If your stubble might tickle

My lips

The way the wind tickles

Autumn leaves

Who are you?

Tell me

Your name

Draw me

A map of the places

You’ve been

I will wander

Through them

So that I can understand

The breathless

Bodiless

Voiceless

Conundrum

That is you
